Mushrooms & their history
Why mushrooms? Quite simply: without them, we wouldn't exist.
Fungi are ancient and an essential part of our ecosystem. They have accompanied life on this planet for over a billion years – and we share more with them than you think: around 54% of our DNA . Fungi respire like we do, produce vitamin D in sunlight, and are more closely related to us than plants.
They are everywhere. Fungi make up about a quarter of the world's biomass . With every breath, you inhale their spores – tiny seeds that give life. Without fungi, there would be no trees, no forests, and many of our antibiotics.
And then there are the special ones, the so-called functional mushrooms . They strengthen body and mind, provide energy, support focus and balance – and taste really good too.
So, why mushrooms?
The better question is: Why not?
